USA Vein Clinics
Chronic Venous Insufficiency (CVI) occurs when weakened or damaged valves in the leg veins fail to efficiently return blood to the heart, causing blood to pool and venous pressure to rise. This can lead to symptoms such as swelling around the ankles, aching or heavy legs, visible varicose veins, skin discoloration or thickening, and even non-healing ulcers. CVI is progressive and, left untreated, may result in more serious complications, including venous ulcers or blood clots. Early diagnosis using duplex ultrasound and minimally invasive treatments can improve blood flow, alleviate symptoms, and help prevent disease progression.
